Michael-John came to work today with us instead of George. I helped Taki with the newspapers and a couple of other things. Then I went home to eat a bit, nap a bit and then to church. I was refilled by being at church and getting to see so many loved ones. It has a been a very long day. Lack of sleep being the inhibitor. Still no news of Dad. Lovely customers today. One couple gave me a 5 Euro tip last night. Today I have 3.10 Euro. I give all this to Michael-John. He is going to spend it on his skate. 🙂

Tomorrow I will go to Galatea. Then we will go to the “Caldera” beach. She will snorkel and swim I will get in some walking. It will be lovely.

Taki and Michael-John went swimming and ate at “Ammos”.

IKA came to check our books for the first time in 20 and 1/2 years. Everything was in order, of course! It was still a little nerve raking. 😛

be good to yourself and those around you, don’t forget to share a smile with those who aren’t wearing one, Deb

I just read that Dad isn’t doing too well. That makes me want to see him more than ever. I called Dad and Vladia’s number and then ‘Becca and Mikes both had answering machines. The rest of you please send me your phone numbers. Thank you.

It’s a beautiful Summer day here. I got a lot of work done at home. That makes me feel better. I also got to see Michael-John for a little while. He was home today. 🙂 Lunch was extra simple. Homemade tomato sauce from Santorini tomatoes and spaghetti.

Yesterday I helped Galatea go to the post office, drop off her recycling and the super market. She was quick. I sat for five minutes outside her studio. I was just leaving as Martin came. He had a load of Santorini tomatoes. I was tempted to carry half away with me. They were so big and beautiful. 😛 I left and went to Helen’s she was busy. We squeezed in a chat between her work. She gave me two pair of Summer shoes that don’t fit her but they fit me. I am so blessed. She gave me a Santorinian watermelon and two cantolopes. They are all so small. She gave me some frozen hamburger patties and frozen beans. Also some eggs from her chickens. All yummy and much appreciated. The best was the hugs and kisses from both friends. I sure miss them.

Vanessa just called. It was wonderful to hear her voice. She is waiting for me to be at church tomorrow. If George doesn’t come in and I work the morning shift I won’t be able to go to church. A man she knew and tried to help for many years died of kidney failure due to his alcoholism. It is so sad. That man reminds me of the movie, “Leaving Las Vegas”. Horrible!

Well, it’s getting late here. hug the ones you want to and always share a smile, with love, Deb

hello

Almost everyday I want to write and almost everyday I don’t. 😦

I won’t try to make excuses, there is none.

The store is a little busier than last year. Thank God.

Maria and Yannis are still living together and Taki and I are trying hard to adjust to her decision. 😦

George is back into skating and is spending all his money and free time on it. 🙂

Michael-John is still into bikes but wants a skate too. So he is saving money.

Taki still hasn’t bought a cell phone so he still uses mine. When I get paid I am going to buy myself the simplest one and let him have mine.

It was another productive day at home. I am proud of myself. Today’s big project was thorougly cleaning out the fish tank. It was hard and heavy work but it is done and looks amazing. My little baby is going to be super happy tomorrow morning. When pay day comes around I am going to buy him some company. My oldest bestest fish died about a month ago. I miss him. I did make lunch, do dishes and laundry too.

Tomorrow I go with Galatea to get an old door. It is a bit of a climb down. But the part where she goes over the wall into the loose dirt that could carry off is the worst part. It was so worth it the last time we went. It’s a great find thanks to Elizabeth and Regina. We may go toward Fira for some more that Martin spotted. We will also send some pottery off to it’s new owners. Busy day but not doing housework, yeah! 😛

I miss seeing Maria very much!

A lovely couple from New Zealand is back this year. I like them and am always happy to see them. I was able to pass on 6 books to them, yeah!

My hours have changed. I am working 15:00 to 1:00. It is tiring having no break but that is Summer here on the island.

The last time I wrote I don’t remember how many pounds I had lost but as of a few days ago it was a total of 37.4. I hope to get down to what I weighed when I moved to Greece. Taki and Vanessa say it isn’t possible. Time and effort will tell. 😉

I still haven’t made myself fit in some walking time and that is bad. The thing is that everyday I get a little more caught up on the housework. So eventually I will have free time and I will that in with walking.

It is 24:08 and we haven’t started closing yet. 😦 It is Summer. The thing is that we are going to bed between 1:30 am and 2am and then getting up at 7 am uuuugggghhhh…

I miss salami, cheeseburgers, pepsi and pizza. I will go to eat a burger in the near future but only half and no fried potatoes or beer. I am doing this to help myself and it is working. Slowly but surely. 🙂

OK! that will do for now, tell the ones you love that you love them, Deb

I wanted you all to know that we are fine. Taki and I are tired but that is standard for the summer months. George is working very hard at the store this year. I am VERY proud of him. Maira likes the job she has this year. Michael-John has become a latch key kid this year. 😦 We have customers and the island is full of people. I haven’t seen many of the people here I love for awhile. That is hard. I miss them. I miss you all too.

I had lunch with Michael-John, Elizabeth and Regina one day. Another day just us girls ate together. Saturday night I will the girls and others I miss. George is going to work for me.

The last time I weighed myself I had lost 37 pounds.

I got to chat with Beverly and Denise’s son Nathaniel on on FB recently. That was wonderful.

I had a lovely day. I went home, did housework, rested, caught up on my writing and had a shower. I feel so good. 🙂

be well…
